Where to Stay in Chicago - The Kimpton Hotel Allegro

During my visit to Chicago a few months ago I stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Allegro in downtown Chicago - a multi-property hospitality group with a boutique feel. I enjoyed my stay so thought it would be great to share some photos in case you're also looking to try a unique hotel in Chicago.

The decor was probably 90% of the reason I picked this hotel - the other 10% being convenience in location - the entire hotel was in an art deco/prohibition era theme with gold accents throughout.

The room was on the smaller side but I loved the decor - especially the wallpaper - and the service was top notch. They really made sure that I had everything I needed during my stay - including Shout wipes which were a lifesaver on my new pink suede mules that got slightly dirty my first day out and about in the city.

The hotel spoke glam in a subtle and sophisticated way - I could spend the whole day in the lounge (there was a fireplace you could sit by that felt very cozy).

If you're looking for a place that is central in Chicago and close to Millennial Park then this is the hotel to stay at. It's also relatively close to the theater district - you can catch Aladdin right next door. The hotel also offered free bike rentals which we happily took advantage of.
